The Peech Hotel is Johannesburg's 'chic' boutique hotel. Situated at 61 North Street, in Melrose it currently offers sixteen (16) bedrooms and suites, a Bistro restaurant with champagne bar and a boardroom and events space. The hotel is swish and sexy... the ideal hangout for trendy travellers in the hunt for no-frills contemporary style. It has been described as "Contemporary, edgy and Afrocentric" by Conde Nast Traveller UK and has been nominated as Africa's leading Boutique hotel (World Travel Awards 2008).
	Bistro @ The Peech is the hotel's chic restaurant overlooking the pool & lush gardens. Our head chef, Greg Jardim, has recently changed the menu to lighter more seasonal dishes. We are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week and to outside guests too.
We want your stay to have as small an impact as possible on the environment so we have a series of 'Eco Peech' initiatives: Solar - all the water heating at the hotel is solar - from the bedrooms to the laundry Grey water recycling - our luxury suites recycle their waste water for use as irrigation Worm farm - the organic waste from our kitchen is recycled into a worm farm which produces fertiliser for our herb garden Electricity - we have motion sensors to switch lights on and off & energy efficient lighting
	Cleaning - we use ecological detergents and cleaning agents Water saving - we have water-efficient dual-flush toilets and use bore-hole water (or grey water) for all garden irrigation (which saves water treatment) Herb garden - we grow some of our own vegetables and herbs in our garden or alternatively use locally sourced ingredients Recycling - we recycle cans, paper, cardboard and glass Insulation - we have installed double layer insulation to reduce heat in summer and heat-loss in winter
