Situated only 1 kilometre from the N2 on the Garden Route between Riversdale and Albertinia, this charming ostrich farm is the ideal halfway stopover between Cape Town and PE, with George Airport only 80 kilometre away.
It also offers some of the finest examples of the unique collection of about 6 500 species of Cape fynbos (plants) that grow only on South Africa’s coast, and thatch reed that is another main source of income. Whether travelling on business or for pleasure our facility will suit your requirements. At Zoutpan Struishuis Guest Farm you will experience the warm Afrikaner hospitality of Engela and Bertie Horn in their stylishly decorated Cape Dutch self-catering units.


	Here you can participate in the normal farm activities, like the collection of ostrich eggs, milking of cows and feeding of orphaned lambs or horse riding. You will also find 1000 ostriches at any time on the farm, 180 birds of which will be breeding. Although ostriches are generally thought of for primarily providing decorative feathers, Zoutpan Struishuis Guest Farm also provides leather and meat for the export market while there is also a demand for the eggshells for artistic purposes.
The leather is prized for its distinctive appearance, suppleness and durability, while the feathers are used in the fashion industry and in high-tech industries because of their ability to attract dust - this magnet-like attribute makes ostrich feathers a "must" in keeping computer rooms dust free, and in the automotive industry, preparing cars for the painting process.
	If this is not to your liking, you can relax in the beautiful communal lounge and reading area, explore the area by enjoying walking trails in the fynbos area, do bird watching, or take scenic sundowner drives, watching the African Sunset while sipping on sundowners at the lovely rock-pool, enjoying a magical evening around an open log-fire.

This unit is like a house, includes TV, CD player, new fully equipped kitchen, microwave, oven, fridge and kettle. Bathroom has bath and shower, two rooms with double bed and two single beds. Breakfast not included. One-bedroomed Unit x 2 Includes: Self-catering Efraim and Juda are one rooms units each sleeping two per unit. Both units offer kitchenette with microwave, toaster and kettle with coffee station, bathroom and own entrance and patio onto garden. Efraim has a double bed and Juda has two single beds. Rate excludes breakfast. Two-bedroomed Units x 2 Includes: Self-catering Ruben and Dan are our two double units, sleeping four per unit. Each has two bedrooms, kitchenette, and bathroom, own entrance and patio onto garden. Ruben offers one double bed and two single beds. Dan offers two single beds in each bedroom.
